Mixed Media Artist
Jude is an artist living and working in Kent. Growing up with a creative Mother ignited her creativity at a very early age.
Her artistic practice has evolved over the years through study, teaching and exhibiting, featuring in magazines and podcasts in both the UK and Europe. A recent trip to Japan to further study the ancient art of Indigo dyeing, Shibori and the related processes and techniques has deepened her love of working with natural dyes.
Using leaves and plant material in eco printing on both paper and fabric also forms part of her current practice. Leaves are collected from her garden and the local area and the outcome is a wide variety of wall art, handmade books and vessels.
Hand stitching is another passion and can be added to pieces as an enhancement.
Whenever possible Jude uses vintage maps, books and charts particularly when making artists’ books. Vintage fabrics form a large part of her textile practice.
Jude is a member of Society of Designer Craftsmen.
