With her love of colour clearly evident in her work, Elsa Hunt wants the viewer to be excited, uplifted and immersed in her paintings.

‘I can feel myself and my soul relax and come alive when I paint with colour. It lifts the spirit, brings joy, and  sets me up in the right mood for your day. Art nurtures me, it gives me a hug.’

Elsa graduated with a BA Hons from the University for the Creative Arts in Farnham Surrey in 2011. She works in acrylic, mixed media, and collage taking inspiration from nature, interiors and her everyday surroundings.

Living between Deal and Surrey, coast and countryside, Elsa is always striving to learn through practice and play. By keeping sketchbooks and loose bits of paper for drawing, painting or mark making. this helps in finding new ways to work or new ideas to bring into a future piece.

Making mistakes and happy accidents along the way assessing what has been created as she works, this  helps to keep the artist curious and open to new ideas.

Attending life drawing as and when she can is something she finds helpful with keeping eye and hand coordination. Her life drawings tend to be done with a stick dipped in coloured ink and water and these too get used in sketch books and collage.

Elsa has been a part of SEAS for about eight years and has found being with like minded creative people such an inspiration and joy.  She takes part in Open Studios most years.
