James Hodgson trained for five years as an art historian, first at St Andrews and again with Sothebys. He took up painting again, recently inspired by the natural world and in particular the sea and skies outside his home in Walmer. So far he has explored this in watercolour, acrylic and most recently oil. He is always looking at exhibitions of contemporary work and the the old Masters for inspiration.
