My name is Graham Boakes an acrylic painter whose work is inspired by the local scenes and landscapes of Deal, Kent. After spending over 30 years working as a builder, I was forced to step away from his trade due to ill health. Painting became both a creative outlet and a meaningful way to reconnect with my hometown and its community. My work captures familiar places with honesty and quiet character, reflecting a deep appreciation for everyday surroundings. Now back out among people through my art, I find particular joy in sharing my work and experiencing the reactions it evokes from those who recognise the scenes I brings to life.
