Portfolio is Turner Contemporary’s annual art competition

Following a call from Kent Community Art Groups, work submitted by SEAS members Patricia Barry and Desi Dimowa were selected from approximately 400 entries. Their art works were chosen by People Dem Collective and The Lived Experience Crew. The work was credited because of its aesthetic qualities and complimentary subject matter entitled “Belonging” accompanying the important current Turner exhibition of work by Ingrid Pollard.

SEAS is a self-funding and voluntary organisation which promotes, supports and provides a network for our vibrant artistic community in Deal and surrounding areas. SEAS was established in 2004 by a few artists and now has a membership of nearly 60 people, ranging from longstanding professional artists to those who are making a start in the arts.

For nearly 20 years SEAS has organised a dynamic, stimulating and diverse Open Studios/Art Trail event featuring new work by professional and amateur artists in conjunction with other creative events such as the
Deal Festival of Music and Arts https://dealmusicandarts.com and the National Gardens Scheme https://ngs.org.uk
