Nicki Vowls has been invited by the Walmer RNLI to exhibit her work in the Lifeboat Station, on Sunday the 25th May. This is the day where thousands of people visit Walmer, to see the Classic Car Rally on the Green, which helps to raise funds for the RNLI.
Nicki’s lino and woodcut prints depict dramatic true sea rescues from the Goodwin Sands, and a contribution from the sale of her work will go to the RNLI. She has produced lots of new work this year, some of it relating to exploits in the First World War. An example depicting a Guardship, which was anchored off Deal Pier, but which was destroyed by a submarine, is shown here.
